Accessing CNDU™
  • Who can attend CNDU™?

    CNDU™ is available only to licensed U.S. Beauty Professionals.

  • Can students attend CNDU™?

    At this time, CNDU™ is available only to licensed U.S. Beauty Professionals. Click here to find a CNDU™ partner school: http://cnd.com/find-school#.

  • Can I attend CNDU™ if I live outside the United States?

    No. CNDU™ is currently available ONLY to licensed Beauty Professionals who live in the United States. CNDU™ will roll out globally in the future.

  • What if my state doesn’t require licensure for Beauty Professionals?

    CNDU™ will comply with each state's requirements to be a Beauty Professional. For those states that don't require licensure, CNDU™ will authenticate these Professionals through other methods.

  • How will CND ensure that classes are available ONLY to licensed Beauty Professionals?

    CND is committed to the highest level of professionalism and we are proud to be Professional Only. We have systems in place to verify licensure authenticity before a course can be purchased.

  • How do I log in to CNDU™?

    If you're already a registered Professional on cnd.com, simply log in with the same username and password. If you are new to cnd.com, click on the "Register Now" button.

  • My email address has changed. How do I update this information on my CNDU™ account?

    Log in to cnd.com or cnduniversity.com with your username and password. Once you are logged in, click the "Update Profile" button on the top right of the page. Click "Change Username" and enter your new email address. Note: your email address becomes your new cnd.com or cnduniversity.com username when logging in to either site.

  • On what type of devices can I access CNDU™?

    You may access CNDU™ via desktop, laptop, tablet, or smartphone. However, for the best experience, we recommend using a desktop, laptop, or tablet. Smartphones can be used to access the site and courses, though having a larger screen provides a better experience. When using a tablet to access CNDU™, use landscape view with a zoom level of 100%. While we attempt to make our site as accessible as possible to all users, we've specifically made sure that the site supports all iPhone models from 4 through 7s Plus; iPad 3 and 4; and iPad mini 2 and 3. iOS Version 9.0 and up is recommended. We test against the most used versions of Android devices with various screen sizes. Android OS version 4.0 and up is recommended. The Windows Phone, Blackberry, and KindleFire/FireOS are excluded from our standard device testing practices due to limited market share. The site may work on those devices, just note that you may run into some issues.

  • What browser can I use to access cnduniversity.com?

    CNDU™ was created to support the most recent versions in wide release of: Internet Explorer/Edge, Firefox, Safari, and Chrome. We don't support browsers in beta versions, nor older browser versions that are no longer supported (e.g. Internet Explorer 6). As of January 12, 2016, Microsoft will no longer support IE8, IE9 or IE10. You may be able to access and use the site with alternate browsers, just note that you may run into some issues.

    For Android devices we recommend using either Chrome or Firefox; the default browser on Samsung devices is not supported.

  • What are cookies? Do I need to enable cookies on my browser?

    A cookie is a small amount of data that is sent to your browser from a website and is stored on your computer's hard drive. If your browser's preferences allow it (most browsers are installed with cookies enabled), each website can send its own cookie to your browser. To protect your privacy, cookies do not store personal information but instead use anonymous unique identifiers. Each website can only access the cookie they have sent to your hard drive, not the cookies sent by other websites. You need to enable cookies on your browser to enjoy all the features of cnduniversity.com.     JavaScript is a programming language used on web pages. Most websites, including CNDU™, use JavaScript to provide various interactive features. As a highly-interactive site, CNDU™ requires JavaScript to function as expected.

  • What is CNDU™?

    CND University (CNDU™) is a web-based online learning program that delivers quality education to licensed Beauty Professionals when and where they want it.

  • Are CNDU™ online courses intended to replace traditional live education?

    No, online courses are NOT intended to replace traditional live education. Online learning will enhance the live learning experience by allowing Beauty Professionals to take courses at their own pace with tools and techniques to take their understanding even deeper.

  • What information does CNDU™ collect?

    You may visit our site anonymously, however when registering, you will be asked to enter your name, email address, mailing address, phone number and professional license number. When you purchase a course, you will be asked to provide your credit card information. Note: Credit card information is not saved or stored in our system.

  • What does CNDU™ do with the information collected?

    Any information we collect from you may be used in one of the following ways: To personalize your experience. To improve our website. To improve customer service. To process transactions. To administer a contest, promotion, survey or other site activity. To send periodic email communication. (Your information, whether public or private, will not be sold, exchanged, transferred or given to any other company for any reason without your consent, other than for the purpose of delivering the purchased product or service requested.)

  • How do I stop receiving emails from CNDU™?

    If at any time you would like to unsubscribe from future emails, log on to cnd.com or cnduniversity.com, click on the "Update Profile" button at the top of the "My CNDU™" page. Click on the "Edit" button, scroll down to the bottom of the personal profile detail page and select "No" under "Receive email updates". We also include detailed unsubscribe instructions at the bottom of each email.

  • I would like to speak to someone at CNDU™. Whom do I call?

  • How will CNDU™ send communications?

    As a registered user on CNDU™, we will communicate via email, per the address you have provided on your profile, and also through internal CNDU™ messaging notifications that can be viewed while logged in to CNDU™ (upper right corner envelope icon).

  • Taking A Course
  • What does a CNDU™ course cost?

    CNDU™ offers a variety of courses starting at $25.00 per class and up. Click on any course to see detailed course description, materials included and price.

  • How soon can I start my course after I complete my purchase?

    For purchased courses that do not include course materials, you will have immediate access to your class once your credit card is charged. For purchased courses that include materials, once your license is verified and your credit card is charged, you will have immediate access to your class and can start right away.

  • How soon after I purchase a course will my credit card be charged?

    For courses that include materials, funds from your credit card will be held for 48 hours, until the license verification process is complete. Once your license is verified, the funds will be charged to your credit card and a receipt will be emailed to you. For courses that do not include materials, your credit card will be immediately charged (if card is valid) and you will have immediate access to your class.

  • I have purchased a course. When can I expect to receive my course materials?

    Once your license is verified and your credit card is charged, your course materials will be shipped within 3-5 business days. You will receive an electronic shipment notification that your materials have shipped along with tracking information. However, you will have immediate access to your class and can start right away.

  • Do I have to wait for my course materials to arrive before I start my course?

    While we encourage you to have all materials before you start your course, it is not required.

  • How long will I have access to my course after purchase?

    Seasonal Trend & SHELLAC® Brand Re-Certification courses remain active and accessible for 3 months from the date of purchase, while Master courses remain active and accessible for 6 months from the date of purchase. This information can be found on your MY CNDU™ dashboard or in your order confirmation.

  • How much time do I have to complete a course?

    Depending on the course, you will have 3 or 6 months to complete your course from the date of purchase. If your course expires before you complete it, you have the option to 'retake' the course if applicable. This information can be found on your MY CNDU™ dashboard in the History tab.

  • What happens if I don’t receive my course materials?

    Please contact contact us or call 800.833.NAIL (6245). Please provide your confirmation number.

  • How can I check the status of the course materials I’m supposed to receive?

    After purchasing a course, you can view the status at any time by logging in to cnduniversity.com and viewing the History tab on the MY CNDU™ page. From there, you will be able to view information about your order (i.e., retrieve your tracking number for your shipment).

  • Will my course content be saved if I need to leave my lesson and complete it at another time?

    All course information will automatically save after each lesson is completed.

  • Achievement
  • How can I become a SHELLAC® Brand Certified Pro?

    Complete the CNDU™ Master Painter Course or a live SHELLAC® Brand Certification event or live Master Painter course.

  • How can I renew my SHELLAC® Brand Certified Pro status?

    Renew and maintain all the benefits of a SHELLAC® Brand Certified Pro by completing the CNDU™ SHELLAC® Brand Re-Certification course or attending a live SHELLAC® Brand Certification event. Certification is valid for 3 years from date of course completion.

  • Will I receive a certificate after I complete my course?

    CNDU™ will send certificates in the mail for all completed Master-level courses only (Master Painter, Master Sculptor or Master Architect). Completion of the Master Painter course includes SHELLAC® Brand Pro Certification which provides preferred listing on the CND Salon Locator. You will also receive a SHELLAC® Brand Certification certificate and welcome kit upon completion of the Master Painter course if you're completing your SHELLAC® Brand Pro Certification for the first time.

  • I’m currently a SHELLAC® Brand Certified Pro but the site is telling me I don’t meet the prerequisite for the SHELLAC® Brand Re-Certification course.

    To attend the SHELLAC® Brand Re-Certification course you MUST be a current U.S.-based SHELLAC® Brand Certified Pro. Log in to cnd.com or cnduniversity.com with your username and password. Once you are logged in, click the "Update Profile" button on the top right of the page. Check the "My Achievements" box to verify status.   • I’m currently in progress with the SHELLAC® Brand Re-Certification course but I’m no longer listed on the cnd.com Salon Locator as a SHELLAC® Brand Certified Pro.

    If your SHELLAC® Brand Pro Certification expires while attending the course, your Certified Pro achievement, status and benefits will lapse on your expiration date, but will be reinstated upon course completion.

  • I completed my Master course but never received a Master Certificate. Whom should I contact?

  • I completed my Master course but I don’t see my name or salon on the cnd.com Salon Locator.

    In order to be listed on the CND salon locator, your profile must include salon information. Log in to cnd.com or cnduniversity.com with your username and password. Once you are logged in, click the "Update Profile" button on the top right of the page and add/update salon info. If you still don't see your salon information on the Salon Locator, please contact us or call 800.833.NAIL (6245)

  • Can I become a Grand Master at CNDU™?

    Grand Master status is achieved by completing all 3 CND Master courses within a 3-year time period; Master Painter, Master Sculptor and Master Architect. Courses can be taken through CNDU™ OR live education through your local distributor. CND Grand Master status is good for 3 years from the date the LAST Master class is completed.

  • Will CNDU™ courses count towards CEUs (Continuing Education Units)?

    Unfortunately CEUs are only available through traditional education. Check with your local distributor for more details.

  • Will CNDU™ courses count towards cosmetology school hours?

    At this time, CNDU™ is only available to licensed U.S. Beauty Professionals. Students at participating CND partner schools will need to check with their school administrator.

  • Payment
  • What forms of payment do you accept?

    We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express. All transactions are in U.S. dollars.

  • Can I use PayPal or Bill Me Later to purchase a CNDU™ course?

    Unfortunately we do not accept PayPal or Bill Me Later as payment options at this time.

  • Do you charge sales tax on my purchase?

    Local taxes, if applicable, will be added to your order.

  • Is it safe to use my debit/credit card on your site?

    Yes. CND understands that the safety of your personal information is extremely important. We offer the use of a secure server. All credit card information is transmitted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology and then encrypted into our Payment Gateway provider's database, accessible only to those authorized with special access rights to such systems, and who are required to keep the information confidential. After a transaction is complete, your private information (credit card number) will not be stored on our servers.

  • I purchased a class on CNDU™ but my credit card was charged more than once.

    Please contact us or call 800.833.NAIL (6245). Please provide your order confirmation number.

  • I changed my mind and don’t want to take the class! What do I do?

    All CNDU™ course purchases are final. If the materials you received to support your course are defective, please contact us or call 800.833.NAIL (6245) to discuss a replacement order. Our customer service hours are Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm PST.

  • License Validation
  • What if I get an email that my license is not valid or has been rejected, but I am a licensed Beauty Professional?

    If you receive a License Validation Error notification, you will have the opportunity to update your license information on your profile and resubmit. Double check that the information you provided is current and correct. You will only have two attempts to update this before losing your seat in the class.

  • I received the License Validation Error email twice. Both times I updated my license information and now I can’t access any classes at all on CNDU™.

    Unfortunately, after multiple attempts to validate your cosmetology license number, your seat in the class was forfeited. CNDU™ courses are only available to licensed U.S. Beauty Professionals. Please contact us or call 800.833.NAIL (6245) if you have any questions regarding your license verification.

  • What if I get a red error message in the shopping cart that says my credit card is not valid?

    If you receive a credit card error message in the checkout process, you will have the opportunity to correct your credit card information or use an alternative credit card and resubmit. Double check that the information you provided is correct. You will only have two attempts to update this before losing your seat in the class.

  • Promo Codes
  • How do I get a promo code to take a CNDU™ course for free?

    CNDU™ promo codes are issued at various special events hosted by CND.

  • How do I use my promo code?

    Promo codes can be entered while checking out in the shopping cart where it indicates "promo code". The value or discount will be applied after checkout is complete.

  • What if my promo code does not work but it’s not expired?

  • What if my promo code is expired?

    Once the promo code is expired it is no longer valid.

  • Troubleshooting
  • I can’t move forward in the lesson — there is no “Next” button.

    Make sure you've completed all the activity on the page which may include viewing videos, clicking on images, step-by-steps and uploading photos. You may need to scroll down on the page to complete the full activity.

  • I can’t upload a photo to my lesson.

    We recommend uploading photos in JPEG, GIF, or PNG formats in file size of 2MB - 4MB. Do not to use any special characters in the file names, such as (#,'/><). Make sure you are accessing the class in a CNDU™ supported browser.

  • Shipping & Delivery
  • How long will it be before I receive my course materials?

    For standard shipping, you should receive your course materials within 7-10 business days after your purchase. Please allow additional time for shipments to U.S. Territories, P.O. Boxes, or Military APO/FPO addresses.

  • How can I track my order?

    Once an order has shipped, you will receive an emailed shipment notification with the tracking number and carrier (i.e., UPS, FedEx, USPS, etc).

  • Can I expedite my shipping?

    At this time, expedited shipping is not available. Please allow up to 5 business days for your materials to arrive after you receive notification that it has shipped.

  • I just received an email with my tracking number and the number shows my order was delivered. How is that possible?

    UPS recycles their tracking numbers. Sometimes, for a full day after a tracking number is assigned to a new package, the information will pertain to a previous order that traveled under that same number. When this happens, rest assured that your tracking information will be available within a short period and should indicate the correct delivery date. Once the package is scanned by UPS, you will be able to click the "view package progress" link, and the updated tracking details will be reflected.

  • Oops! I accidentally placed my order with the incorrect shipping address. What should I do?

  • Will I have to sign for my package?

    Typically, we do not require a signature when we ship your package. However, there are instances when the delivery driver may decide to choose this option, which is at their discretion.

  • I received my course materials but they are damaged. What do I do?
